So today, our Columbian computer fix it man, Pablo was offering some of of the food from his native land to everyone at work today.

"What is it?" One of the Spanish teachers asked.
"Just try some, it's delicious," Pablo said, shoving a handful down his throat.
I picked one up and chewed it down.
"Which insect was it?" I asked.
And Pablo told me...

And a very large one at that.
It tasted like ...
toasted corn kernels (called "canchita" here in Peru).

We have very little ones crawling on our kitchen cabinets. I'll be sure to save some for you to snack on when you come visit.
